WINTER
03' –
NEWSLETTER
What’s New:
Tricia and I were married this past summer and have
recently found out that we’re expecting our first baby
this summer! (8/4/03)
How’s Fishing:
The weather has been cold, real cold! Water
temperature dropped to 51 degrees this past week. But they
should be the low for the Winter. The fishing is a little
tougher when it’s that cold. The fish go into shock, all
but the sheepshead. They’ve turned on and big sheepshead
too. This time of year they fill the inland and near
coastal waters to spawn. Good eating fish and a decent
fight. The waters are already starting to warm and the
month of February is predicted to be much more mild. The
trout and pompano should turn back on soon. The best thing
is that there is always something to catch.
Backwater Catches:
Pompano, trout, sheepshead, small snook and some
redfish and black drum.
Offshore catches:
Grouper, snapper, spanish mackeral, sheepshead and
some kingfish.
March:
The waters start warming and the fish start migrating up
the coast through the 10,000 Islands and the Gulf of
Mexico. Spring is coming.
