MAY – NEWSLETTER

WHAT'S NEW: The fish are here, and the spring run of Snook is on!

HOW’S FISHING: April was a great month. The fishing just keeps getting better. I had a 12 year old boy by the name of Hunter Hedman not only fight but land a 175+ lb. Tarpon. This amazing fish was 75 inches long and 40 inch girth. Then a week later Bob Russo and his crew took turns fighting and landing a fish that I had never seen but only heard about. A 15+ foot Sawfish. Almost extinct today. This prehistoric fish actually has a flat sword for a nose that is lined by 1 inch teeth along both sides and a body like a shark. Other catches included Snook, Redfish, Sharks, Grouper and Permit.

Backwater catches are Snook, Redfish, Trout, Pompano, Snapper and Tarpon.

Offshore, Large Tarpon and Shark, Triple tail, Permit, Cobia, Grouper, and Snapper.

MAY FISHING: May is already here and were off to a great start. The spring run of Snook is on. Catches of 40+ Snook (landed) ranging in sizes of 18-42 inches. All species are available this month!

FISH STORIES: Keith Kennelly days ago accomplished what we call a “Backwater Slam.” Catching a Tarpon, Snook and Redfish in the same day.

CATCH OF THE MONTH: 175+lb Tarpon on 25 lb. Test, 2hr fight by Hunter Hedman.
MOST UNIQUE: 350+ lb. Sawfish on 80 lb. Test, 1 hr. fight, by 5 guys on the Bob Russo crew.
